The authority on the classification of the genus Rhododendron (including
the Vireyas) is the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.  There is a brief
mention of this on their web pages at:

http://www.rbge.org.uk

I thought it might be worth mentioning this as it gives the contact points
for the lead researchers and there is a searchable database of all the
plants in their collections (RBGE covers three separate botanic gardens).
