Rooting pines

i just learned this interesting fact about Montereys native pine, P.
radiata. It seems that in the wake of pitch canker fungus, the Pebble
Beach Company is rooting candles from Monterey pines (resistant pines).
They say that these are one of the few pines that will root from
cuttings! Interesting eh? And i though pines couldnt be done ( in a
reasonable amount of time). I think they took the cuttings in August,
and now they have little saplings.
