A Pac Hort Symposium on Mediterranean Gardening

Fellow Mediterranean gardeners in the SF Bay Area -

I just today received this information from Carol Moholt (the
creator of the Bay Area Gardener WWW Site), which she thought might
be of interest to the group.  The actual format of the event is
unclear as yet, but information will be forthcoming as I am made
aware.

                 "A Pacific Horticulture Symposium"
                Gardening Under Mediterranean Skies
      cosponsored by Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
                     September 25 and 26, 1998

Speakers from southern Europe will discuss the history of gardens
around the Mediteranean, and local professionals will present their
views on the opportunities and constraints offered by the West's
summer-dry Mediterranean climate.

Lectures, workshops, and tours of the Botanical Gardens'
Mediterranean climate collections by plants experts, plus plants and
books for sale.  Full details will be announced in the next issue of
Pacific Horticulture and the Strybing Calendar.

I'm researching what opportunities might be available to our own
Medit-Plants community in this event, at the very least perhaps a
casual 'get-together' of interested local members.  If anyone has
