This thread is a discussion about a plant commonly grown in Mediterranean
climates, and the southern tip of South Africa does have a Mediterranean
climate. Also, my original post regarding the Clivia came because I had an
individual defaced a label in a conservatory under my control. I guess
since the conservatory is the Mediterranean Conservatory at the Rio Grande
Botanic Garden, and I'm the Mediterranean Collection Curator, I felt the
post was appropriate.
Certainly I received more than enough information to make an educated
decision on how do deal with this issue. At least if a visitor does decide
to discuss this with us I can converse with them objectively. Thanks all
for sharing your knowledge.
