Ive been to two of the places mentioned and i must say, the neative
stands are quite beautiful. Especially at cambria (tourist trap/wine
growing area). I didnt see any signs of pine pitch canker there, and i
wonder what will happen to the forests there if it reaches that area
and causes damage. I also heard that when most of the pines are gone,
Monterey will look more like the local hills with the Live Oaks.
