Hello, this is your Southern California correspondent reporting in on the
weather.
We've had freezing temperatures (literally) the last two nights. Both
Sunday and Monday nights dipped into the low 30's f. There've been
numerous injuries (bananas, California poppies, uncarina, etc.), and a few
fatalities (the tomatoes and cucumbers in the veg garden, Gossypium
harknessii, etc.). This is about as cold as it gets so we hope that the
worst damage is done. No doubt the stone fruit and apples are loving it
and the kids had a great time ice skating on the lawn in their stocking
feet. We scheduled this week to replace our last four aluminum frame
windows so while the new wood framed windows are perched precariously in
their sockets, the cold air to streams in around the edges that have yet to
be stuccoed. Personally, I haven't removed my fleece jacket (indoors) in
several days except when buried beneath the down quilt in bed.
Thats the news from the new South Pole. What's the weather in your area?
Nan
