I've been fascinated by this string, as expected :-)
I forwarded a compilation of the first days emails to a friend
of mine who works in environmental weeds education in Melbourne.
Haven't heard back from her yet as she's been tramping the snowies
looking
for weeds to photograph.
The most interesting aspect of this string as virtually all of these
spp. mentioned are
indeed serious environmental weeds (and in quite a few cases
agricultural weeds)
that you as gardeners are all aware of them.
I'll not add any professional opinion on this issue but do urge you to
continue
this amusing and interesting conversation (the island olympics is a
classic and so true)
Nick when this discussion reaches some sort of end would you be so kind
as to send us a copy
of this lists distilled wisdom.
