For those who haven't heard, northern california got snow down to sea
level, and as far south as Monterey today. It was strange, we werent
expecting a storm, and yet, it came in with fury, blowing hard and
dropping hail. Small Snow flurries were seen in the monterey/salinas
areas (i saw snow falling near San Miguel, about 70 miles or so south
of salinas! Practically all the mountain peaks around here had snow
covering their tops. IN the Bay area (as many bay area members can
attest) there was snow fall there as well. Its been an amazing day.
Unfortunately were supposed to have clear skies tonight which means we
will probably get a hard freeze! Snow is extremely rare here and my mom
says that the only time that Monterey has gotten measureable amounts
of snow was in the 1950's during a pebble beach pro-am tournament!
