Re: Carpenteria californica, the Tree-Anemone

Hi Sean,

I have a Carpenteria californica from Saratoga Horticultural Research 
Foundation.  I thought it would grow well under the oak tree.  It was 
beautiful the first year and has been a dud ever since.  I have thought about 
moving it.  Someone else withe whom I traded information on the rec.gardens 
newsgroup has one in the sun which is also not doing well.  We have wondered 
if we're too far north for the plant to flourish.  Any suggestions for 
helping it to thrive?
