Two plants in this list did surprise me, as I have only ever seen them
grown in sunny sites - the Nepeta and the Centranthus. Perhaps it is
because our summer temperatures are a good bit lower than yours.
Temperatures are such relative things, for instance English books always
say to grow Delphiniums in full sun, but locally they perform better on
partly shaded sites.
