Re: Finally some rain!

Hi Nan,

I am also celebrating the fact that it has finally rained here. Just wish
I had put those plants into the ground before the rain. Now it's just a
big mud field out in the yard. ooops.

It has finally rained hard enough that the birds came under our patio for
shelter. We have a wire clothes hanger dangling from the ceiling of the
patio (we were trying to dry soggy rainwear two years ago but this hanger
has since become the hummingbird perch whenever he comes to
inspect
the patio plants). This morning, a group of finches came to escape
the
rain. One finch landed on the hanger and as he was too fat for such a
maneuver, the whole thing started to swing back and forth. Instead of
flying away, he fought hard to hang on. At the time, the Blue Danube
waltz was playing on the morning radio so we had a Fantasia-like moment
this morning. The only thing was that the finch wasn't swinging in time
to the music. I guess that would have been too much to ask.
