Looking for plant ID

I have two mystery plants and would be grateful for any suggestion as to their identity. To see the photos, go to:

The first 4 photos (names prefixed with 1) seems to be some kind of aster. It grows about 2.5-3feet tall, flowering from August onwards. Dies in winter, comes back in late spring. Does not self-sow. Grows with no supplemental water.
The other two photos (names prefixed with 2) is an evergreen mystery plant that grows about 1.5 feet tall, flowering in May. The leaf texture resembles Phormium, which it clearly is not.
Any ideas what these things are?
