I organize the seeds of annual flowers and vegetables this way: I have a collection of shoe boxes with scenes of a ranch (this isn't necessary, but I know instantly that there are not shoes or shoe polish or anything else inside one of them.) I have them labelled as to when the seeds need sowing. I also have one labelled "Sow Often" for salad stuff that needs sowing every few weeks.
If I have seeds left over at the end of the season, as often happens because I like to grow a dozen or more different kinds of peppers, tomatoes etc, I bundle them all up in a plastic bag and put them in the back corner of the fridge.
Shrub and perennial seed all gets sown or donated to seed exchanges, so I don't store these except as I am collecting and cleaning them.
