Linda is right, Spathodea campanulata is the African Flame tree (as in Elspeth Huxley's
'Flame trees of Thika') However the tree in the photo looks very like Delonix regia, not
native to Africa, though very commonly grown there. In Natal it is known as the Flam-
boyant.
