Here in Perth, Delonix regia (which appears to be the tree in the
photograph) is commonly called Royal Poinciana. There are also plenty of
Erythrina christa-galli and they are called Coral Tree. The Flame Tree
here is likely to be the Illawarra Flame Tree from Queensland, Brachychiton acerifolius. Common names!

There are a few (and only a few) in California's Mediterranean climate areas but they are restricted to those areas with lenghthy summer heat. Riverside, an interior Mediterranean climate with no significant winter cold, for example, has some nice ones.
Also note that they take MANY years to flower from small plants.
