Re: Dodonea viscosa 'Purpurea' or 'Saratoga'

Hi Linda

IN addition to the comments others have made on size, you might want to know that this is a vicious reseeder.  I have a client whose next door neighbors planted several Dodonea (don't know what variety though) along their common fence and we are forever picking seedlings out of the vegetable garden, shrub borders, etc.  I'd never plant it after this experience.

Hi all,

Has anyone ever seen this variety of a mature Dodonea in the landscape.  If so can you tell me the maxiumum heigth and width you have ever seen it grow.  I have never seen one taller than 10 feet and no wider than 6 feet.  I am recommending three of these to be planted by someone and they are concerned it will get too tall.

Thanks,
