It definitely gets taller than 50 ft in the SF Bay
Area. Not to offend anyone but In my experience many
nursery labels underestimate the eventual size of
plants they sell. Most people want to believe that
trees in particular will fit in their gardens and I
think that some nurseries underestimate deliberately
in order to make a sale. But then maybe I'm just a
jaded and cynical gardener.
