Traffic has been diminishing steadily since the time a number of years ago that default replies were changed to go to the person posting, and not to the list.

In order to have this reply of mine go to the list, I had to delete your address and type in the one for medit-plants.  Not enough people have done that - in fact, I'm sure many don't notice what happens when they hit "Reply"
