You could be correct but I am intrigued with the
all the bulbets that form along the old flower
stem. Ordinary Watsonias don't do that. I
think all these escaped rogues liked the heat
of the 1967 bushfires. Many houses were burnt
in the Channel area and they must have had the
bulbs, corms growing in their garden. A pretty memorial to the departed
orchardists and obviously conditions now suit them, especially the Crocosmia
[Montbergia] Another escapee is the Ixia.
