This is to all those folks who are sending me envelopes for free poppy seeds.
I don't have all of your e-mail addresses. I'm addressing this to the group
so I won't have to repeat myself numerous times.
Plant the seeds as soon as possible. My 'volunteers' are already small
plants. Plant in nice, loose soil. Water them in well. Cover with 1/2 inch
or so of mulch. Keep moist until they germinate. The seedlings and even the
adult plants look like weeds, rather thistle-y, so be careful not to pull them
out by mistake. I'm sending everyone about a teaspoonful, and the seeds are
very tiny, so you should be able to get a plant or two out of it. Happy
growing, and please let me know how they do. Thanks.
