I am not paying as much attention to this list as I would like so i may
have missed responese to Nan sterman's reqest for nurseries in Oregon.
Last Summer we spent a wonderful fortnight in the PNW and for part of that
we travelled Hwy 101 down the Oregon coast. It was unforgettable.
Nan metnioned Lincoln City I don't know any nurseries ( If Kay Lancaster
is onthis list i feeel sur she would know) there but if memory serves isn't
that were there is a remarkable stand of insectivorous cobra lilies ? They
were fantastic! They might be in flower in the spring as a bonus.
Come to think of it my trip to the PNW coincided with those times of the
year when i make the fewest visits to nurseries because I am with him
indoors who goes has a fit of the vapours if I go near a nursery or indeed
attempt to spend money at all :-) He had similar panic attacks when I saw
Nordstroms (VBG)
One place that sticks very clearly in my memory is Cannon Beach. It was so
pretty. Flower beds in public areas were crammed with the most choice and
delicious of perennials with a preponderance of cottage garden plants. I
was very impressed. It was masterful planting. It had also spilled into the
planting of the beds at Seaside ( were it was less appropriate) I heard a
local at Cannon Beach say that they had good local landscapers but whoever
does it has a real gift and feeling for plants. There has to be a nursery
that supplies all that stuff!
Cannon Beach (or Bandon) I would love to be going there again this year
but my husband refuses, so we seek pastures new!!!!! I will just have to
keep on wearing the t shirts :-)
Happy Gardening
Best wishes from a de-lurking
