Need info about Planchonella australis

Anyone on this list familiar with an Australian tree/shrub: Planchonella
australis (sometimes called Black Apple or Yellow Bulletwood)? 

I am interested in (1)what the fruit is like and if it is edible,
(2)climate requirements, (3) any special soil requirements.
