In Puerto Rico, mangos are almost weed trees; the wild ones are about
the quality of the store bought ones in the U.S. or slightly lower, the
common one is 'Mayaguezano.' It's a pale yellow fruit. A
s soon as a fruit hits the ground and the pulp rots away (creating a
wonderful fermenting stink), the seeds start germinating. If they don't
hit the ground, they may hit you or a windshield, which, if it's still
green, it can break.
They are also interesting in that most of the seeds have more than one
shoot and you will find yourself with a competing clump of young shoots
very quickly.
