Hello Tim.
My references to Asterotrichion/Sida are limited. From what I can
gather, Asterotrichion discolor is a large shrub or small tree of the
family Malvaceae. Scented white flowers, hollyhock-like, flowering in
winter. Cannot find any info regarding habitat, but related species seem
to grow in rocky areas.
Looks to be a borderline candidate for the UK. Certainly worth a try.
