Perhaps you ought to persuade the fit young men of your area to take up
"pig hunting" as a sport? It is common in NZ. Tough young men, almost
always with a pack of tough and aggressive dogs (they are known as "pig
dogs" and are generally of mixed breed, but love to "mix it" with a
boar, even though most of them show plenty of scars!).

Most men (and the few women) who pig-hunt do so with a rifle, but a few
of the more intrepid do not take a gun, just a large knife. Their
technique is to use the dogs to "bail up" the pig and hold it, then they
dive into the fray, onto the top of the pig if possible, and use their
knife. Great adrenalin rush, I understand, but not without danger!

Wild pig makes good eating too!
