Re: rain at last

Bmm, bmm, bmm, bmm, bmm, BMM!, BMM!, BMM!

I've kept daily weather records here for three years (four winters) and
this was the weirdest "storm" I've observed. It did seem to rain
briefly, and the ground got wet, but there was no measurable
precipitation. Even the National Weather Service in Sacramento recorded
.00 inches of rain. The snow survey's yesterday in the high country were
pretty discouraging. We're about 1/5th of normal in the snow pack. The
Central Valley farmers are irrigating! There's still time to catch up,
but you never know what'll happen.

Bmm, bmm, bmm ...

Here, the dry weather is pushing forward the bloom schedules of some
natives. Manzanita is budding about a month early. I wouldn't be
surprised if some hot spot microclimates begin to produce wildflower
blooms.
