Yep, this is the same one - I forgot it's not Convolvulus any more, it's
Calystegia.
I did see one interesting way of dealing with it - get lots of small vials,
and fill them with 1:1 roundup and water, hang them where the bindweed
grows, break off the ends, and put them into the roundup mixture. They take
it in that way very quickly and it gets down into the roots before the tops
die. (if you just spray the leaves, the tops die but the roots stay viable)
It's sounds like a bit of a pain but evidently it's fairly effective.
