Tristania conferta, etc.: Canopy trees for med climate

There are some Tristania street trees about 1/8 mile from my location.
Unlike many of their Eucalyptus kin they seem completely well-behaved; prone
to neither limb shedding nor pavement bulging. I think they are quite
suitable for the appearance your are looking for. You may want to,
nevertheless, look into the relative fire risk they may entail. Very low
fire volume plants such as some palms might be wiser.
