I know this is way off topic but I just had to tell somebody.
I've been writing down what I can remember of my time in WWII for my
kids someday!
I'm up to where I caught a troopship in Naples and went to
New York. I've always had a kind of grudging fondness for the little
tub. I heard about it two times in the news after the war. It hit the
papers when a bunch of nurses were transferred to a carrier because
they thought they were sinking. It was the first time service females
had been on the carrier! The second time was a year later when it was
caught in New York harbor unable to unload a boatload of refugees
because of a dock strike.
I got to wondering, do you think there would be anything on
the web about this?
So I went to a search engine and typed in Athos II. Good
grief, there it was. If anybody would like the URL for this it is,
		 	http://www.armed-guard.com/troop17.html

I'm amazed and want everybody to know what a great thing the
web is. I'm enthusistic about it. It took me less than a minute to
find it!

Isn't the web grand!! (Pardon my childish enthusiasm!) ---Chas---
