Thanks to everyone for the comments - though since there are clumps out
there growing in bright Californian sunshine and flowering (sometimes!), and
plants in New Zealand shade and flowering (often), it's still coin-tossing
time as far as deciding which of my Cumbrian possibilities is most likely to
suit this fussy creature. Being idle, I shall probably settle for the 'time
will do it' option...
