Tim,
Given how it does here in northern California in too
much shade, I would suggest that full sun would suit
it better in your location. Even when it does bloom
here, it is certainly not the very showy, the degree
of orange in the leaf is much more significant than
the flowers, which as Sean mentions, can go unnoticed
even when passed by every day along a front walk!
