Can you hear my "Aha!" all the way up there?
My aeonium is not at all pubescent either, rather shiny as a matter of
fact! The picture (of A. subplanum) in the book I mentioned does not
show any pubescence and does not mention it in the too short
description.

San Marcos' A. 'Mint Saucer' looks very like mine which off-sets as
freely as yours, so from now on I'm calling it that. Thanks so much. My
cutting came from a dry garden up above Avalon, Catalina Island (not the
botanic garden). Isn't it amazing how far and wide a good plant can
travel if it's an easily propagated succulent?

Now I must see A. undulatum. Several nurseries down here buy from San
Marcos, so I shouldn't have a problem.
