Myrtle Alternatives

Of those on David's list of alternatives, I can certainly recommend Hebe buxifolia - one of the best-looking, hardiest, and most easy-tempered and bug-proof workhorses it's possible to imagine. And it makes a very effective hedging plant, provided that the hedge can be fairly uncorsetted and informal.
