Oh Roo is corect all right. There are many studies to prove this
I fear like most of the uncorrected anti-social situations in our modern world the answer is the money involved. Multinationals like Monsanto undoubtedly have the whip hand and any civil action brought against them has only minumum chance of succeeding and then most likely at a great cost to the opposer.
