rose wound thanks

Thanks to all who so promptly responded to my rose-pricking query.  As suggested by an immunologist friend, I have twice so far today soaked it in warm epsom salt solution.  I was very careful to squeeze it, and I do think I dislodged a small bit of thorn this morning.  Although it is still red and painful, the swelling was helped by the soaking, making bending my fingers much less difficult.  Since today is a holiday, I shall soak it a few more times before bed, and take it to the doctor in the morning if it isn't miraculously cured this way.  Unfortunately, I am allergic to one of the antibiotics in triple antibiotic creams like Neosporin!  I can't remember which one, only that I clean and cover my cuts, but never treat them with that anymore!  I suppose I should keep something else on hand, but I always trust, whether foolishly or not, the antibiotic hand soaps so readily available, and good old hydrogen peroxide.

Sincerely grateful for all the concerned, and well-thought out advice,
Karrie Reid
