RE: Convolvulus arvensis and cardboard / newspaper

Thanks so much for the real-world data! I think cost will not be a deciding factor for me. Not that I have so much money, but I have enough trouble with my back that if the morning glory returned I would have to hire people to pull it, and that would be more expensive than any fabric.

I am so delighted to have access to the collective wisdom of you medit-plant folks :).

admit that it is not so successful particularly with Convolvulus. In
pure cost terms though, I think it is the better option.

So for the big beds with the big shrubs, it's sounds like I have a
choice between: 1) the fabric, which lets small feeder roots through
and is known to keep out the morning glory, and 2) cardboard, which
will eventually let big taproots through -- but does anyone know if
it will also eventually let the morning glory through? Decisions,
decisions.
