Nice post!
This looks to me like Tupidanthus calyptratus.  While the flowers are a bit hard to see, they look like this species which it sometimes called ‘mallet flower’ because of their club-like form.
You got me to pull a few of my reference books off the shelf to verify my suspicions and I ended up stumbling upon some other unrelated information that was very useful for one of my current projects!!

Although i'm not 100% sure, may be a Schefflera rhododendrifolia (syn. S. impressa)?
