Re: Zantedeschia aethiopica

Dear Sue,
Re. your posting about Z.aethiopica'Green Goddess', I would be happy to have
seed from you and distribute it among other members who want it.
The common white form grows quite well here in the west of Ireland..I have
seen large clumps in gardens.I have it planted by a pond .Mine came from a
ditch on the outside of an old graveyard on Achill Island ; apparently it
had been planted on the graves, grown too luxuriant and had been thrown over
the wall where it now grows prolifically.
The green form is known in England, but is very uncommon. You may prefer to
send the seeds to a member in America, but I swap a lot of seed and am happy
to do this if you don't get anyone else better positioned.
I wrote to Virginia Hunt after your first posting a few weeks ago and got
her list.It is excellent.I sent it to a friend in Tennessee who ordered some
for us both and mine is now crossing the Atlantic.I have grown a few Salvias
for many years but have recently got a passion for the more tender and
scented ones.
Thanks for all your useful information.
Jane
