Hello.
Someone has written to suggest Barry's dandelions are Agroseris.
Possible, but I'm thinking it's hard to mistake these--?
Yes, there is a vegetable Salsify, I regret not having the reference
books to look up if other Tragopogon specie are used this way. I do
recall either finding out or finding something that encouraged my
suspicions about this, perhaps I was thinking that the genus hasn't
proven to be chemically dissimilar from Taraxacum? I think Salsify is T.
porrifolius, so it probably isn't :-)
There are a number of vegetable varieties or cultivars of Salsify
available as well... I think I have gotten seed of several Mediterranean
specie as well in the last year or so also.
Good gardening!
