Dandelions and thistles do have great appeal.
A milk thistle sprouted by chance in my herb garden. Since it is a
traditional European herb I let it grow. It looked splendid with that
dramatically variegated foliage, and I couldn't help thinking that if it
were more difficult to cultivate it would probably be a popular garden
plant. Since it is not popular, though, I cut it and burned it before it
threw its seeds to the wind.
I too would love to see that 3 inch dandelion flower and to try it in
the garden. I fear the neighbours might think it the final weedy straw,
and lynch me.
