Greetings all medit-plant lovers.
Some years ago I visited New Zealand to be a tourist and
especially a ´plantlooking tourist´.
When I come from the nothern hemisphere, everything
look fantastic and exciting.
Now I have a dream about having one or two Auraucaria auracana
or other species of Auracaria in my garden. I know they can get
nice and tall in the danish climate. - About 28-30 dregee F (about
minus 1 to
minus 2 degree C) in winther and 70-80 degree F (22-26 degree C) in
summer. Rainfall about 600 mm/year.
Anybody who knows if I can get seeds from New Zealand for cultivating
in my garden? If a few seeds in a little envelop is sufficient for for
a trial
I would be extremely happy if somebody would try to help my.
-When travelling round on the North and South Islands, I collected a
lot
of endemic species of mosses (Bryothytes) from the family Meteoriaceae
(e.g. Dusinellia sp., Weymouthis sp., and Papillaria sp.) - mostly
epiphytic; hanging down from the trees. The family is only known from
the
southern hemisphere and the tropics, so it is marvelous when I am from
Denmark!
-Number one on my top 10 travelling-list is to go to Queens Town and
Mount Cook
one more time - but it´s rater expensive. Sorry.
My best regards
