many people at my school cannot wait for the native plants to fill in,
thus they think the native plant gardens are ugly, and wonder when will
they look like "real gardens". In the Oak woodland garden they have a
sign that says it wont be "mature" until about 2018.
anyways, you can prune plants and make them look attractive. In
japanese gardens they often prune pines into largish bonsai shapes. BUT
this takes a lot of time and patience, something most people dont have
or willing to spend.
