Lawns

I was in Las Vegas last weekend and was told that new
homeowners now must, by law, limit the size of any grass
lawn they wish to establish. They have yet to follow Tucson,
which will not permit any new grass lawns.

Seems that everybody and his uncle are moving to Las Vegas.
I'm not sure what the attraction is (no state income tax,
perhaps). Seeing the prodigal use of water by the big
casinos, you might be excused for forgetting that  you are
in the middle of a very dry desert.
