Dear All:
I don't have much to say on this group-though I love to listen in, but I
simply must respond to Carol's point. First of all, if we gardeners can't
call a spade a spade (sorry), then who can? Anyone who has battled yellow
oxalis knows it only too well by that name. In fact, those who have battled
it have spent restless nights tossing and turning as yellow trumpet shapes
march relentlessly across one's bedroom ceiling. It's impossible to mistake
for anything else. And second, I invite anyone who 'loves all plant' to
come to my house and 'love' my star thistle (um, I forget the botanical
name) to death! Bu so doing, perhaps you can even save the lives of my
neighbor's horses. The fact is that if I learned to love all plants, there
would only be three left in my garden: yellow oxalis, star thistle, and
English ivy. Well, the slugs would be happy.
Hey, wasn't there talk of desert island designed on these principles a
while ago?
