Oldenburgia grandis

Does anyone have any information on this plant, also called the daisy
shrub? It is an intriguing woody shrub/tree found in grassy fynbos and is
native to the Suurberg (lit Sour Mountain) in SA which gives an indication
of its habitat.

I came across mention of it in a book by Richard Cowling and Dave
Richardson called Fynbos -South Africa's Unique Floral Kingdom. Excellent
book. A photo in the book (pg 27) shows it high and isolated on the slopes
of a sparsely vegetated hillside.
