Re: Joyce Fingerut on Seed Imports

I thought the message must be a bit old. It is my understanding that the US government's 'Official comment Period" (during which time the public could comment/criticize on a proposed regulation has been closed. (Which means subsequent comments get put into the circular file). I think the absurd regulation is now in effect. I am wondering what other americans (not meaning to slight Canadians here) have experienced in the import of seeds from abroad. I have heard that seeds (appropriately packaged with bubble wrap and identified as something, say, like computer disks, usually get through OK. (In the future they may be fried by thousands of Roentgens of X-rays), and I have known of a few american collectors to bring a few packets back in their clothes.

Does anyone have any experience with how the US government/post office/customs is actually handling seed imports to date (as opposed to how they say they intend to handle seed imports in the future?
