Hello all,
I am totally enamored with my variegated
Plectranthus amboinicus or Spanish thyme/Cuban oregano. I got this plant
from Mountain Valley Growers and it started out at the beginning of May as
a tiny three leaved plant in a three inch pot.
The stems are brittle and I broke a couple off taking it from its
package when it arrived. I put it in the ground in a sunny location that
gets a bit of filtered shade in the afternoon. It is now about one
square foot. What a beautiful plant and such a wonderful fragrance
when you gently rub a leaf between your fingers. I can't wait to use
it in cooking -- if I can bare to cut a leaf from the plant. It is
borderline in my zone 9, so I plan to cover it if we get any frost this coming
winter.
