Subject: Euphorbia griffithii
I bought a Euphorbia griffithii and put it out in late spring. It looked fine until the weather got over 1o1 F and then half of it shriveled up and died. A week later, the other half has followed though the weather has been only in the 90s this week. I knew nothing about it when I bought it except that I thought the orangey stems and bracts and would look great in the garden. I don't have a clue on yours; you have any idea on mine?

Please forgive me if I answer the two of you together.Subject: euphorbia cotinifolia odd behavior I have a Euphorbia continifolia that has been sitting for months with just stubs of leaves. The weather has been plenty hot for them to develop, but they just sit there. The stems are green just beneath the surface, the leaves are soft an pliable (rather than dried out). Any ideas?

I can't imagine what has caoused your Euphorbia to sulk as they are
described as very quick-growing.
All I can say is "where there 's life there's hope and suggest you are
patient a while longer, just making sure it has enough moisture and hope it
will suddenly take off.

I have found E.griffithi a bit fussy myself and lost the one I tried to
grow a few years ago, though other species seem to like my garden. I did not
try a second time, so I don't know if it was just a dud plant.
I think in your case the weather may have just got too much for it when it
was only partly established. In fact it does not I think like its weather
all that hot (It comes from the Himalayas.and It's preferred zones are
apparently 6-9). Perhaps. if you are likely to get such high summer temps
regularly a position with some afternoon shade might have better chance of
success.
