A couple of articles in the most recent edition of Pacific Horticulture caught my eye.
First, thanks to Nan Sterman for her timely article on fire and ice in California: useful information, and an absolutely stunning photo of a mountainside of poppies!
Second, Noel Geileghem's article on a non-irrigated garden in Berkeley was interesting, and leads me to ask this forum: does anyone have experience growing Brunsvigias? They look like absolute show-stoppers. I browsed the web on them a little, and note some species are native to summer-rainfall areas of the Eastern Cape, and perhaps these are easier to cultivate in a garden?
Thanks for any advice.
