This is my self-published data base of 185 Salvia varieties found in
commerce in the United States. I list all the data fields that you saw on
the previous post, and most of these are plants from my collection that I
have been able to grow for three or more years. I use the term placard to
denote an expanded label in the form of a table.

I actively solicit information from others, and that is another purpose for
distributing the book: I need this information, especially for Old World
sages that melt in the hot, humid Carolina nights. Input from other Medit
respondants will be especially valuable. I am going to create,
circumstances permitting, a Salvia web site to expedite this effort and
answer questions just like the one you posed in your original post.

The end goal is to use this info to create a long-requested monograph on
sages. Since I may shortly be forced to sell my home for one of two
reasons, my ability to collect information may be limited. I expect that I
will be working on a grant that will allow me to keep my home. My limited
horticultural activities in that case will be directed to the purpose of
advancing this research and collecting and distributing new sages in a much
more efficient manner.

Beyond this, I'll leave those inquiries on mercantile concerns like
obtaining the Salvia placard book to individual posts, since doing otherwise
would be improper for posting on this discussion group. I hope I haven't
been too coy about my interests as it is.

If not, you are well on your way!
